A Brief History

Rossmoor is a relatively recent community developed from 1955 to 1961 by Ross W. Cortese, who previously built Lakewood Rancho Estates in Long Beach and the Fremantic Homes in Anaheim. Cortese's vision was to build a large exclusive community. At the time, it was the largest in all of Orange County. His plans called for tree-lined streets, spacious yards, and quality constructions- features that characterize Rossmoor to this very day.
